Can anyone appease Krishna by devotion alone?

It is not the character of Krishna to like someone due their personal traits.

Krishna likes anyone, who follows the path of TRUTH and adheres to DHARMA, because Krishna himself does the same.

Not only Arjuna, and Pandavas, but anyone, who follows the path of TRUTH and adheres to DHARMA, will be liked by Krishna.

Please note that when Bhishma and Drona sided with Duryodhana, who did not adhere to DHARMA, Krishna got Bhishma and Drona eliminated.

Krishna cannot be fooled by mere devotion shown to him, if one is not following the path of TRUTH and adhering to DHARMA.

When Krishna revived dead Parikshit, he uttered the following.

"Oh, Uttara, I never lie. My words will come true. I'll bring this child back to life before everyone. I've never told a falsehood, not even in jest. I've never retreated from a fight. By the power of those deeds, let this child live again! Because I value righteousness, and because I hold Brahmins especially dear, let Abhimanyu's son, born dead, be revived! There has never been a disagreement between me and my friend Arjuna. By that truth, let this lifeless child revive! As truth and righteousness always reside within me, let Abhimanyu's dead child live again by their power! Because I righteously killed Kansa and Kesi, let this child revive today by that truth!"
